Costa Rica albergar\u00e1 el Torneo IHF TROPHY Intercontinental de Balonmano del 7 al 11 de marzo desde el Gimnasio BN Arena en San Jos\u00e9 con las Categor\u00edas Junior (Sub-21) y Juvenil (Sub-17).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Este torneo, es un programa de desarrollo del deporte, adecuado para los pa\u00edses emergentes, que son todos aquellos que no juegan de forma constante los Campeonatos Mundiales de categor\u00eda mayor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Este torneo fue creado por la IHF en el a\u00f1o 2010 y se juega anualmente un a\u00f1o en rama femenina y el siguiente en rama masculina. En el mismo participan dos categor\u00edas, la Junior (Sub-21) y la Juvenil (Sub-17); para la actual edici\u00f3n, se contar\u00e1 con la presencia de 10 pa\u00edses, divididos en 5 por categor\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En la Junior (Sub-21), los participantes ser\u00e1n: Costa Rica, Cuba, Australia, Gran Breta\u00f1a y Guinea; mientras que en la categor\u00eda Juvenil (Sub-17) participar\u00e1n: Nicaragua, Tahit\u00ed, Georgia, Guadalupe y Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Para llegar a este certamen, las selecciones tuvieron que pasar por dos fases anteriores. La primera fase se realiza a nivel regional dentro de cada confederaci\u00f3n. En el caso de la Confederaci\u00f3n Sur y Centroamericana (COSCABAL) a la cual pertenece Costa Rica, hay dos regiones, Centroam\u00e9rica y Suram\u00e9rica. De cada regi\u00f3n se clasifican los dos primeros por categor\u00eda, los cuales pasan a la segunda etapa llamada continental, de donde solo el ganador de la misma, en cada categor\u00eda, pasa a la tercera etapa final llamada Intercontinental, donde solamente se enfrentan campeones de cada confederaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNos sentimos muy emocionados y comprometidos con el reto que tenemos al frente, no solamente como parte de la organizaci\u00f3n, sino tambi\u00e9n por la historia que la Selecci\u00f3n de Costa Rica est\u00e1 realizando, ya que nunca hab\u00eda podido avanzar de la segunda fase. Pero gracias al desarrollo y crecimiento que ha venido experimentando el balonmano costarricense en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os fue posible clasificar en primer lugar a nivel centroamericano en categor\u00eda Junior e ir a la fase continental y repetir el primer lugar, ganado el derecho por primera vez de asistir a una fase intercontinental. Gracias a ese desarrollo deportivo que muestra el pa\u00eds, aunado al nivel organizativo de nuestra federaci\u00f3n demostrado en diferentes eventos organizados en territorio nacional, la IHF dispuso organizar el evento en nuestro pa\u00eds<\/em>\u201d, explic\u00f3 la Sra. Silke M\u00e9ndez, presidenta de la FECOBAL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El torneo en nuestro pa\u00eds ser\u00e1 organizado por la Federaci\u00f3n Internacional de Balonmano (IHF) y la Federaci\u00f3n Costarricense de Balonmano (FECOBAL), quienes tendr\u00e1n a cargo todos los detalles de log\u00edstica, producci\u00f3n y organizaci\u00f3n, en conjunto con lo deportivo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El formato del torneo dejar\u00e1 a una selecci\u00f3n campeona por divisi\u00f3n. Se jugar\u00e1 en un sistema de todos contra todos a una vuelta y el equipo con mayor puntaje lograr\u00e1 el primer lugar. Con ese sistema se efectuar\u00e1n en total 10 juegos por cada categor\u00eda para tener un total de 20 partidos en todo el evento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El \u201cIHF Trophy Intercontinental\u201d se llevar\u00e1 a cabo en el gimnasio BN Arena de San Jos\u00e9, el m\u00e1s grande del pa\u00eds, y bajo la filosof\u00eda de que estos eventos sirvan para que m\u00e1s personas conozcan la disciplina del balonmano, la competencia ser\u00e1 transmitida a trav\u00e9s de las redes sociales de la FECOBAL.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
